Baby Shoes

Today was a happy mail day! I got the whole set of Tim Holtz oxide inks!
So of course the minute I got home from work I was making an even bigger mess in my craft room!!

The background consist of Cracked Pistachio, Fossilized Amber, Broken China and Iced Spruce

You just pretty much smear the ink all over and give it a sprits of water. I look forward to playing around with this stuff much more!
For this image I used Baby Shoes from my etsy shop. It seemed to coordinate perfectly with the background.
I used E43, E41 and E81 to give a warm color to match the craft paper background and hemp string.
Perfect for either gender!

Thank you so much for stopping by!!! I hope you have an awesome rest of your day!

Dahlia card tutorial

Its been a crafty morning here this morning!
I should put a sign on my craft room door that says
Messes are us!
Its amazing the tornado that hits when just making one card!

This morning I just wanted to do something different.

I started with experimenting with Copic marker combinations.
This is what I ended up with

Next I fussy cut out the Dahlia flower (You can find it in my shop here) and mounted it
to a 4 1/2 inch paper I distressed using Tim Holtz Distress ink in Vintage Photo and Old Paper using a bit of craft foam to pop it up a bit.

I'm still learning how to use these blender tools from Tim Holtz but so far so good! I've always just used a sponge in the past but I have to say its really nice to have clean fingers.

And speaking of Tim Hotlz products if you haven't tried his new Tonic Studios Stamping Platform it is Amazing! It has completely transformed the way I stamp. Everything is so clean and strait!

I always find that with clear stamps I never get a clean dark image on the first stamp. With this I can re-stamp the same image as many times as needed! Love!
The stamp set I used is called By Hero Art's and is called Cut and Stamp Thanks
I then dug out some Fran-tage that had a very good coating of dust and added some of that.

Followed my the finished matting of the card!
I love how it turned out!

I hope you all enjoyed this brief tutorial! Its not something I'm very good at,
But I sure hope it helps someone!
Have a wonderful day! Please come back again soon!

Hope its a Hoot!

It is so cold outside here in Pocatello ID.
A good reason to stay indoors and color!

Today I have created a simple card using the image
Owl in a tree from my etsy shop.

I often here the owls up in the hills surrounding our house and it makes me smile!
I remember one year even seeing itty bitty Pigmy owl on our back porch.
They are such stunning animals.

For this card I kept it simple.
I used a Spellbinders die from the Majestic Elements set to cut the image out then matted it over some embossed tree paper from Cut'N'Boss folders.

The sentiment comes from an old Gina K stamp set I have had around for years that I believe is retired now called Owl always love you.

Copic colors for this card include :
E97, E89, E84, E49, E47, E44, E43, E42, W6, W4, W5.
