Water Color Rose

I have so many red copics waiting for refills that I decided to pull out the
water colors to play with this afternoon!
I came across these awesome water colors at Hobby Lobby
called Kuretake. over a year ago and haven't been able to find them since.
But here is a link on Amazon if you would like to check them out!

They were very simple to use.
I concentrated the color into where I felt shadows should be then rinsed my brush a tiny bit and used the wetness of the brush to pull the color out to the end of the petal!
The background is just highly watered down light touches of paint!

I feel its a nice clean and classic look.

I used Canson Water Color Paper
then matted it up in black card stock!

This is also a new image called Water Color Rose that I have just uploaded to my shop.
My In-laws sent us beautiful flowers for Thank Giving which prompted a whole new slew of drawn images coming soon!

Classic Christmas

Today I felt like I needed a little bit of a Classic Christmas feel.
Sweet and simple!

As most of you know I love to create designs that make the card.
I'm terrible at the embellished style so I always tend to lean towards the clean and simple.

for this card it was as simple as print and color!
The only copic colors used are
G29, E49
 RV69, R29, R35, R24, R22, R30

I used a silver gel pen for the tops of the ornaments and called it good!

This took me about 15 minutes to make from print to finish!
You can find this new image in my shop:

I would be so happy to see how you color this up!

Rhea has released her classes!!!

Wahoo!!! The classes are out!!
And can I just say... AMAZING!!!

Roses are Red

I've only colored this Roses image up in pinks so I thought I would do reds!
Copic colors used are RV69, R29, R35, R43, R30, YG17, YG67, YG99.

I used my Novu Crystal glaze for some dimension but for some reason they dried matt.
I'm wondering if since its a bit chilly in our house that would make a difference?

The little gold flecks you see are dotted on using Dr. PH. Martins calligraphy colors in iridescent gold. I love this stuff!

The thanks die cut comes from Pink and Main. I have just double cut it and off centered it a bit.

And the gold paper I have been using lately is from the paper studio. I found it at Hobby Lobby and Love it!

That about concludes todays make!
I hope you all like it and are having a wonderful day!
Thank you so much for dropping in!

A few cards to share

Its been a busy couple of weeks for me!
Finally getting some work in and haven't been home much.
I drive a pilot car so I tend to be off at a moments notice.
But in the few spare hours I have managed I have made a couple cards to share with you!

This one is using my silhouette to cut the background design, then my image from the
shop called Poinsettia

This fun card is a retake on Fall leaves

And then one of my favorites Apple Blossoms
Done in light simple pinks and gold embossing!

And another using the Poinsettia image!
The background on this one is a Tim Holtz embossing folder called Basket weve.

I'm felling so accomplished!
I hope you like them!

Poinsettias

I know usually we see Poinsettias used on Christmas and Holiday cards but this one just seemed to take on a like of its own.

I always color my image first and then start digging for paper to match..
Well This card almost feels springy to me!
That's ok though, I mean why not!

For this card I used my newest image called Poinsettia. I fussy cut it out and layered it on papers from Canvas Corp. The sentiment is stamped from a Hero Arts set.
I then added some Nuvo drops for a simple embellishment.

Copics used are R56, R43, R85, R83, R29, G29, YG63, YG17, YO8, E09

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Black eyed Susans on a winter day

Good Morning!
Today I dusted off the silhouette Cameo cutter. Believe me it was dusty!
I wanted something fun and clean for this card.
Its just some random cutting file I purchase years ago from the silhouette store.

The image is from my shop called Black Eyed Susan
I've merged the Png flower to create the corner border.
Then topped it with a die cut sentiment from
Momenta. It has been heat embossed in gold.

Copic Colors used are
RV69, RV66, RV63
E79, E29, Y28.

Flecks of gold are dotted in using Dr. Ph. Martins
Iridescent Calligraphy colors in Copper Plate gold.

Thank you so much for dropping by!!
Have a wonderful day!

Using your head!

Just a little snowman humor and a good lesson on improvising and "using your head"

I couldn't help myself with this one!

I call this one "No Ball, No Problem!"

Copic colors used for this image are:
C1,C2,C3,C4,C5, R17, R56, R21, Y38, E87, E87, E25, BG01, BG000.

Background paper is from DCWV: The linen closet collection.

And I don't know if you noticed how the background is popped up? A lot of people use pop dots or double stick tape, Fun tip: kids craft foam and glue is amazing for the added dimension! I love it and it saves me tons of money! Give it a try :)

I hope you have and amazing day!
Thank you so much for dropping in!

Baby Shoes

Today was a happy mail day! I got the whole set of Tim Holtz oxide inks!
So of course the minute I got home from work I was making an even bigger mess in my craft room!!

The background consist of Cracked Pistachio, Fossilized Amber, Broken China and Iced Spruce

You just pretty much smear the ink all over and give it a sprits of water. I look forward to playing around with this stuff much more!
For this image I used Baby Shoes from my etsy shop. It seemed to coordinate perfectly with the background.
I used E43, E41 and E81 to give a warm color to match the craft paper background and hemp string.
Perfect for either gender!

Thank you so much for stopping by!!! I hope you have an awesome rest of your day!

Dahlia card tutorial

Its been a crafty morning here this morning!
I should put a sign on my craft room door that says
Messes are us!
Its amazing the tornado that hits when just making one card!

This morning I just wanted to do something different.

I started with experimenting with Copic marker combinations.
This is what I ended up with

Next I fussy cut out the Dahlia flower (You can find it in my shop here) and mounted it
to a 4 1/2 inch paper I distressed using Tim Holtz Distress ink in Vintage Photo and Old Paper using a bit of craft foam to pop it up a bit.

I'm still learning how to use these blender tools from Tim Holtz but so far so good! I've always just used a sponge in the past but I have to say its really nice to have clean fingers.

And speaking of Tim Hotlz products if you haven't tried his new Tonic Studios Stamping Platform it is Amazing! It has completely transformed the way I stamp. Everything is so clean and strait!

I always find that with clear stamps I never get a clean dark image on the first stamp. With this I can re-stamp the same image as many times as needed! Love!
The stamp set I used is called By Hero Art's and is called Cut and Stamp Thanks
I then dug out some Fran-tage that had a very good coating of dust and added some of that.

Followed my the finished matting of the card!
I love how it turned out!

I hope you all enjoyed this brief tutorial! Its not something I'm very good at,
But I sure hope it helps someone!
Have a wonderful day! Please come back again soon!

Hope its a Hoot!

It is so cold outside here in Pocatello ID.
A good reason to stay indoors and color!

Today I have created a simple card using the image
Owl in a tree from my etsy shop.

I often here the owls up in the hills surrounding our house and it makes me smile!
I remember one year even seeing itty bitty Pigmy owl on our back porch.
They are such stunning animals.

For this card I kept it simple.
I used a Spellbinders die from the Majestic Elements set to cut the image out then matted it over some embossed tree paper from Cut'N'Boss folders.

The sentiment comes from an old Gina K stamp set I have had around for years that I believe is retired now called Owl always love you.

Copic colors for this card include :
E97, E89, E84, E49, E47, E44, E43, E42, W6, W4, W5.
